Argelli Returned to Brno for Another Fight

Giuliano Argelli is an Italian fighter residing in Faenza, in the Emilia-Romagna region. He made his professional boxing debut in November 2025 and competed in two bouts, both ending in defeats by technical knockout.

In 2026, Argelli transitioned into professional bare-knuckle boxing. During his first appearance at Redneck Fight in May, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Patrik Truksa. That result became one of the main topics of our interview.

Despite the defeat, Argelli expressed his respect for his former opponent while making it clear that he disagreed with the judges' decision and would welcome an opportunity for a rematch.

You competed at the previous Redneck Fight event, where you lost by decision. Now you're back for Redneck Fight 15. Are you aiming for a victory this time?

I want to give everything I've got. I lost my last fight by decision, but personally, I didn't feel like I lost that fight.

So you disagree with the judges' decision?

In my opinion, it was the wrong decision. In fact, I would like to have a rematch with Patrik Truksa.

You want a rematch because you believe the judges' scoring was inaccurate?

Yes. I have great respect for Truksa. I always want to show respect and honor my opponents, but I believe the decision was wrong.

Your previous opponent, Patrik Truksa, is also competing at this event.

Truksa and I have become friends. I have no problem with him. He's a good person who wants to put on a good fight. And afterward, we want to have a beer together.

This time, you're fighting Michal Šmíd. What do you think of him as an opponent?

Šmíd is a good opponent and a good fighter.

How has your preparation been going? Do you train every day, or even twice a day?

Twice a day. I've been sparring with MMA gloves specifically to prepare for bare-knuckle boxing, alongside my regular boxing training.

In Conclusion: Our Interview with Giuliano “The Underdog” Argelli

Giuliano Argelli ultimately suffered another defeat at Redneck Fight 15, losing to Michal Šmíd by unanimous decision after three two-minute rounds. Judges Eva Borodáčová and Pavel Kocábek scored the bout 29–28 in Šmíd's favor, while Tomáš Polák awarded Šmíd a more decisive 30–27 victory.

Following the event, Argelli's combined professional record in boxing and bare-knuckle boxing stands at four losses in four bouts. In bare-knuckle boxing specifically, he has competed twice, losing both contests by decision.

Despite his results, the Italian fighter emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and mutual respect throughout the interview. His relationship with Patrik Truksa demonstrates that rivalry inside the ring does not necessarily prevent friendship outside it.

At the same time, Argelli remains convinced that the judges made the wrong decision in their first encounter. Whether he will eventually get the rematch he is looking for remains to be seen.
